Temp Month Entry #1: “Take One Sidekick. Call Me In The Morning”
Maybe you first saw Caanan Grall’s awesome work through his Zuda comic, Celadore. Or you might have stumbled across his whimsically brilliant strip, Max Overacts. Or perhaps you thrilled to his viral internet sensation, Muppet Thor. Or, inexplicably, you haven’t treated yourself to Caanan’s superb style and overwhelming sense of fun.
Today launches our first “Temp Month” at the Hero Business, where you’ll be treated to different takes on the Hero Business universe through a series of special creators. I thought I’d start off the month with one of my favorites. Here, Caanan picks up on a thread from the first page of the first storyline! In doing so, he’s added to our mythos with a Starry Knight character design as well as a new sidekick character.
And, it’s funny as hell.
I love Parker’s attitude in this one, as well as the notion of Malefactor secretly intervening in heroes’ lives. So many jokes packed in one page! Thanks, Caanan! You’re welcome back at the Hero Business any time.

Yowza! Love the purple-haired girl. How dare that other girl say she’s cuter!
Been a huge fan of Caanan’s stuff since Celadore. This page has every reason why the guy rocks and it’s a coup for The Hero Business to get him to pinch hit.
Thanks Caanan!
A REAL coup, for sure! 🙂
Nice! I recently discovered this comic, and I’ve really been enjoying it. Great work.
Thanks, and welcome! Check out Caanan’s links, too. You won’t be sorry!
Hehe…”…I am more powerful than you and way cuter…”. Best part!
Very funny!
I love Starry Knight’s costume. I wonder what his powers are? (Apart from flying and crazed rants, I mean. Every classic DC hero can do that.)
Brightness sort of reminds me of a DC character who’s name I have totally forgotten and can’t check as I’ve lost my comixology password… she was in the first issue of Identity Crisis, hanging out with Elongated Man… can anyone help me out with this one?
It was Firehawk! She used to date Firestorm. 🙂
Comic book sales up by 3 people? That means they have what, 4 readers?
3 people doesn’t seem that impressive, but it was so rapid. They couldn’t possibly have announced it already… Which means that those three readers are a fluke, doesn’t it…
