“The Doctor Is OUT!” p14
Doc was really playing the long game here — as we’ll soon see!
The ZAP! of the week. That stings. Just ask Bravado.
And hey– New York Comic Con is coming! My commission list is officially OPEN! Details here!
And next week: A really big announcement!
“It’s only bad form if you get caught”
And he got caught hook, line and stinker too. Dreadlexa had no qualms about spilling Duplicity’s beans.
Exactly!
And thus the Bad Doctor got served a nasty dose of Karma 😛
It’s only when you get caught do you feel bad, and especially when you’re caught in betrayal. So sometimes the Court of Public Opinion is the nastiest thing to face, even more than the deadliest weapon (at least weapon fire you heal from easier).
Especially since Justin is there to get the whole, unadulterated story for broadcast in time for a live scoop. All to better pad that cash mattress he sleeps on — and be the perfect system to deliver unwanted Karma to the world.
I love it when a plan come together!
So on top of everything else Dr. Duplicity actually owes Dr. Malefactor for having saved his life from the outraged supervillains? O_O
I am amused! ^_^
And the supervillains owe Malefactor for helping them cut their losses from Duplicity’s double-dealing. Justin as well gets his major live scoop in time for “This week in Capes” So Eli is making “great-will” he might need for later. (You don’t go with “goodwill” with villains, you need the next step up.)
And Malefactor may have dirt on some of them if they invested already. Malefactor corollary to Machiavelli: “Between gratitude and leverage (blackmail) it is far better to have leverage.”
Yeah it’s all a win-win for Eli. Well, a win-win-win, as you’ll soon see!
Using Duplicity’s driver’s license photo on television was just adding insult to injury. The message was clear, though. Do NOT cross Malefactor.
Ha!
That’s low, but when then again he was playing with fire to begin with so he should have expected Justin would get him back the worst way possible 😀
Play with fire you get burned
Louie is coming across a little too Watson here. He should know it’s getting caught that counts.
He’s probably indulging Eli in this case by playing straight man so that Eli can have maximum pleasure from his villainous gloat.
Yeah, I think he’s worked with villains enough to know how much they need to gloat… and need someone to give them the right cues.
Louie feels more like he was the shocker/killer moth type of villain compared to the mastermind type. pull a few spectacular heists, make off with the shinies and tussle with the heroes, rather than try to outthink em or take over the world
Yeah exactly– Louie was a more cash-and-grab villain. Malefactor was mastermind class. When we first see Louie he even says Malefactor “always thought he wuz a big shot, back in th’ day.”
The basic heist, or even the social organizer rather than the mastermind I can see, but even the low guys know it’s the don’t get caught that matters (everyone should be expecting a back stab, after all), or don’t get caught so it effects you as the bigger fish can do that to the little fish in front of the faces of the little fish. I guess I could see Louie playing along for Doc though.
Heh heh. It’s fun to watch Eli at work. ^_^
It’s downright glorious
Sooo… does this mean that Duplicity in no longer marketable enough to be the bad guy in the new Bravado movie?
that’s a very good question!
At least this fiasco will make him Three-Mile-Island toxic enough nobody in their right minds will want Duplicity. Just ask Harvey Weinstein and Matt Lauer, who are now toxic enough for nobody to want near them.
