“Hexes And Ohs!” p25
That Deus X. Machina! Always with the cryptic talk.
But the guy definitely seems to know something!
And Parker did previously know him!
And what’s up with Demonatrix? She seems pretty desperate to protect this secret!
Looks like the identity of Parker’s dad will send shockwaves through the HB universe!
Only one more page to go, Heroites!
WOW! I don’t expect DXM’s cycle to complete next week… but I’ve been wrong before. When I thought Wallflower was the Leaker instead of Wingman. Plus, Bravoman’s movie is yet to be made… “It begins. And it must complete itself.” Looking forward to next week & the continuation of Season 2. Thanks, H.B. C.E.O.!
The cycle is a much longer game. A Season Three game even!
hopefully the concealment spell doesn’t mean she actually has daddy’s looks… that jaw…
I have NO IDEA what you mean. ; )
Great. Now I’m picturing a storyline for this that’s too silly (I think) for this comic. A Maury Povich lookalike is a vigilante called “Paternity Man” is waiting in the office when parker arrives, and none of the guys save for Malefactor were brave enough to show up for work.
That a delicious idea.
Huh! And here it was that I thought Demonatrix was the one behind Trixie’s strange interpretation of the news. I guess that makes Uberman the most likely culprit behind what she did. @_@
Trixie’s headline is hers and hers alone. She even mentions that she already knew it in the moment. The gag there — and it’s a running gag — is that Wallflower is always cropped out of the group photos! Poor kid.
No hidden nefarious agendas with that one.
I know a lot of us fans want it to be bravado, and I can see evidence of it. Which I will not spoil, just in case I am right and certain things indicate what I believe. But Honestly, I want it to be Malefactor. I do. I know it is cliche for the daughter of two villains to, by the example of her father’s (or mother’s) nemesis becomes a force for good-ish. Please remember she was a Bravado fangirl, so the trope would fit. Besides I think it was the Lounge Lizard that made reference to both her parents being villains, although he wouldn’t snitch about her dad, which implies her dad was in fact a villain and the Lizard and Malefactor are OLD friends. Also remember that Demonatrix, talked about a spy that was still active. True she has a cover story in place but the play off that it was just a magical bug doesn’t quite work because she reffered to her spy as an individual, as a person. Just a random rant I love that this is a comic that looks four color but has these deeper backgrounds, these hidden complexities. So good job!
Thanks! I love your theories!
I also — from the get-to — didn’t want any of my characters to be one-note. They are all complicated in their own way, with good and bad qualities. I’m SO GLAD people are getting that! 😀 And all I can say is…..keep reading!
I’ve thought Malefactor would be her father since Parker brought the topic up. Parker’s eyes are blue, almond-shaped, and rimmed with black; Malefactor’s eyes are blue, almond-shaped, and rimmed with black; Bravado’s eyes are squint-colored, squint shaped, and unlined. The one time I can recall Bravado’s eyes being open they were black.
Compare in the comic and the roll call under it: http://www.theherobiz.com/comic/allnewbravado04/
Parker’s skin color also looks about halfway between Malefactor’s and Demonatrix’s, Malefactor and Demonatrix dated extensively, and Parker’s chin is as non-existent as Malefactor’s is for a man.
Interesting observations!
Gotta love Demonatrix’s expression in that last panel!
And the concealment spell explains why Major Spoiler hasn’t already let the cat out of the bag — good planning, that.
indeed!
I hope it’s going to be Dr. Malefactor. He and Parker get along pretty well and have a similar “by any means” way of getting things done, balanced by either decades of cynicism or lingering scruples. And honestly I think Dr. Malefactor would be more likely to get involved with his daughter’s life than Bravado or Uberman or the others, because they all have plenty of significant others / friends / fans / etc while Malefactor might actually value a family relationship. However it turns out, I think Parker and Dr. Malefactor could continue being good for each other as friends.
They do have things in common— only Deus X Machina (and I) know for sure! ; )
