“Bad For Business” p19
Ulp! The hostile takeover is now a hostile takedown.
Parker’s fears give new context to old scenes, don’t they?
Especially the first page of this very storyline! “Daughter of a demon sorceress… so isn’t this what you expected?” chills.
Then again, Brody has a very valid point… especially from his own personal perspective.
So are you guys “Team Brody” or “Team Parker” on this one?
Personally, I’m “Team Homer”.
Also, HOLE-y event horizons!
Hrm, well i think im on team read the insurance policy. I will laugh if the policy does include supernatural disasters.
I read Malefactor’s expression as, “What a stupid question. Obviously I would have.”
Oh, and I’m on Team Parker. I originally thought she was going to be a perky goth type, because of her outfit. Between the backstory and the cold-shaded panel 3, I feel a lot of sympathy for Parker. She seems like she’s a sweet, vulnerable person who is endlessly forced to pass herself off as someone else no matter who she’s around.
A little more of Zakumo’s version, but you are both right! ; )
I read it more as “of course THEY wouldn’t have.”
I like your version, too.
Oh look! Malefactor’s FINALLY gonna get to use his laser!
This should be fun.
mayyyyyybe….
Brody, Brody, Brody. Boy-o, don’t ya know that that type of treatment is rather costly and is usually billed by the hour? Count yourself lucky and think of what she’d do to/for you to make it up to you.
Parker would probably make him a cake or a pie… or knit him a sweater… or let him try courting her for marriage. Anything that’d be commonplace for the 1950’s. She seems to be willfully chaste to annoy her mother.
In a world like this, how can their insurance policy not cover acts of the devil?
it can, it’s just VERRA EXPENSIVE.; )
I’M TEAM DUMBLEDORE!
Obscure references aside, both are right. But Demonatrix still does have a spy in the agency as far as I understand. Could be him, could be anyone else… I like them all, so I hope I’m wrong… But if I’m not, my money is on Brody – which would not justify Parkers actions of course.
On another note: supernatural threats from the beyond, really? Bravado probably solves problems like this before breakfast. It’s like his alarm clock. There must be more to this…
This is why you don’t cheap out on superhero insurance.
Even my insurance company has a supernatural disaster policy. ^^; No way they don’t have one with the kind of clients they have. XD
Wait! Did someone queue the Bob Seger music?
And reading more, Brody comes off was waaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyy too presumptive. The daughter of a villain thing aside, it seems like he decided how him and Parker should go.
Yea, not so fond of Brody’s behavior here on a repeat reading.
Oops, on my repeat meeting, I may have not given him credit. I thought his “us” meant him and Parker, but now I realize it could mean everyone else at The Hero Biz but Parker. Kinda shut out, but at least not domineering creepy.
YES< "Us" is the people at the Hero Business. "me" is the very deep personal betrayal he feels... from someone he has developed strong feelings for. Parker DID kidnap him and chain him to a radiator for a few days so there's THAT. Looking it at from Brody's POV he has the most right to be upset with her and has been hit hard with a lot of information, don't ya think?
Who is Parker’s dad? Is he a hero, or villain? Does he have anything to do with who she is and how she “turned out?” 🙂
Totes ‘Team Parker’.
