Coffee Break #27: “Rebirth Pains”
It’s the return of Starry Knight, referred to in our very first Hero Business! Starry Knight was later designed by the great Caanan Grall in his very humorous guest strip during “Temp Month,” along with new sidekick, Brightness!
Looks like Starry Knight is experiencing some Rebirthing Pains… again!
Also, do yourself a favor and check out Caanan’s own awesome comic, Max Overacts!
Wow, thanks for extending my contribution in to the strip proper, Bill! I’m honoured to be a part of the Hero Biz!
And those designs look way better under your pen than mine. 🙂
Ha! You’re too kind. As I was drawing this, I was like, “Eh, I don’t think they look as good as they did under Caanan’s pen.”
And the second I saw your guest strip, I KNEW these guys were returning! 🙂 So, thanks again for letting your talent grace The Hero Business.
LOL Seems like a case of Aquaman Syndrome to me… Poor guy is just boring,… but at least his main power isn’t “talking to fish”
He shouldn’t worry. In a few years, when the Starry Knight mythos collapses under the weight of all it’s continuity errors, they can redesign his costume and relaunch him as a whole new hero. Probably darker and grimmer, though.
Where is Brightness keeping the phone in that outfit?
Exactly! PS: The phone is behind her back!
Wow, Way to roast of GL, *Sigh* It’s sad to see my favorite hero in this posistion, but Great comic!
Don’t forget Star Dreck, Morgan. Just be sure to get a good director or the fanboys and girls will flame you more savagely than any pyrokinetic supervillain.
I think that you’ve managed to show these characters in your own voice while still retaining the charm of Caanan’s design. Look forward to more in the future.
Oy, you just presented one of the least-desired things to happen in television: the big symptom of jumping the shark known as the “Cousin Oliver effect”.
