Cry, Malefactor p08
We’re back from holiday hiatus, continuing our “Cry, Malefactor!” story arc.
It’s Dr. Malefactor’s first interview. This comic really grew and grew with some additional jokes and sight gags. I sorta love Ghoulrila Marketing now, so I expect they will pop up again!
And, a cool webcomic crossover alert: John Hazard’s excellent Frankenstein Superstar has already played in The Hero Business universe here and here and here, so I thought I’d return the favor, and establish Ghoulrila Marketing as the guys who made some of Frankie’s swag. And then there’s that regrettable movie he made in the 80s….
What do you think, Heroites? Webcomic crossovers? Yay or Nay?

HA HA HA HA!!! Oh, man, you hit the Twilight series right in the gut with this one. I hate what Stephanie Meyer’s done to the reps of vampires and werewolves everywhere!
Twilight doesn’t have vampires, because the author didn’t take the time to do the proper research. If anyone took the time to do the right research before that series provided us with an excellent example of why screaming fan girls are a bad idea they would have noticed that Twilight’s “vampires” are more in line with some old tales about faeries. Yes that right some old European fairy tales involve the faeries drinking blood. Rather irritating isn’t it
Do they need marketing research to better define what qualifies in “some gays”?
Ones who enjoy shirtless man candy with a mute button? ; )
I’m always keen on comic crossovers. Webcomics used to do them all the time a few years ago, but not so much these days.
I think they can be fun, if done right. John Hazard’s comic already fits neatly in this universe! 🙂
Nice to know the good doctor has his standards. =P And nice Easter egg on the Frankenstein stuff. 😉
I hate anything to do with Twilight, no one is THAT emo, I am sorry. that show and the movies and the books have done in less than ten years what Hollywood did not do in all the vampire and monster movies it made, Stephanie Meyers has totally mind blinded people to the existence of something beyond their senses and gave them the idea that Evil is not evil, it is pure emotions.
Yeah, don’t get me started. I had the misfortune of seeing the first one in the movie theaters, not knowing exactly what is was. I’m a huge fan of BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER… and this, sir, was no BUFFY.
I did not like the Buffy movie, they left too many holes in the plot. The series was very good and answered more than it left open. It was a shame they canceled it.
I like crossovers, I just finished one webcomic that would have been great if it had not just suddenly stopped, and it would have worked as a crossover as well. Also, Evil INC would be a great crossover as well.
That’s pretty much the reason that there was a Buffy TV series, because the movie was so stuffed around with.
Yup, I miss my Buffster.
I just thought, were Gretta Ghourila animated, I’d cast Mindy Sterling as her voice.
Oh, that’s a good one!
Oh, I see your little plan Gretta. You’re going to make everyone think vamps and werewolves are adorable and glittery, so when they come to feed we’ll all be saying “C’mon over here babe, let’s cuddle!”
As for webcomic crossovers – yes! This one works particularly well.
Heh, that’s quite a monstrous plot! We haven’t seen the last of these guys.
I am totally all for webcomic crossovers! SO much fun!
I enjoy all the backlash “dimlight” has been getting, too. 😉 “Pre-menopausal head cases” for crying out loud! Brilliant!
Hee. Thanks.
I think this crossover is GENIUS 😉
I definitely want Gretta to visit Frankenstein Superstar. She’s perfect as the marketing person behind his old swag, and I can see her coming back into his life in the near future.
Thank you Bill!
Hurray! Gretta lives on! Awesome, John, can’t wait to see your take on her!
Not for nothing, but Gretta is hot!
ah, ther’s my Gravatar. Like I said, Greta is hot. Enjoy reading your stuff!
Thanks! You must be into goth chicks. ; )
I come back from vacation for blow to the Twilight series. Yes.
Welcome back! 🙂
Glad to know the doctor has standards
Well yeah, even Evil has Standards
Intercomic references for the win! 😀
Here’s a fad I’m all to happy to watch die in flames…
