Frenemy Mine! Cover
Well, Temp Month has concluded. Hope everyone enjoyed all our talented guest artists! Personally, I loved all the amazing entries from my talented friends.
This week, we’re looking at the cover to the fourth Hero Business collection “Frenemy Mine!”, on sale soon!
As usual, I do an homage to a famous comic book cover. For this issue, I drew inspiration from Lois Lane #93, by the legendary Curt Swan:
It seemed like the perfect image to capture the storyline…. with Glamazon in the Wonder Woman role and Morgan as the intrepid Lois Lane. And Simon engaging in a bit of Super-dickery.

“Glamzon”?
Funny you should mention Super-dickery…I came up with a joke in the vein of Johnny Carson’s “Carnac the Magnificent” routine from The Tonight Show:
“Hickory Super-Dickory Dock.”
(Opens envelope and takes out card.)
“What kind of psychiatrist do you visit about Silver Age Superman’s hickory super-dickory?”
That vintage cover is kinda ironic, given the current relationship between Supes and Wonder Woman.
Hmmm…. Sorry to nag, boss, but shouldn’t that be ‘Glamazon’ not Glamzon?
Eli.
GlamAzon! Yes! She would freak if she saw her named spelled wrong. Thanks, Eli and Jane…..Fixed!
That’s the creepiest expression I’ve ever seen on Superman’s face. He is loving that bitch fight!
Prefect for Simon of course.
That’s what I thought. 🙂
Fifteen cent cost on the old cover indicates circa 1968-1970 publishing date, just before inflation really went nuts. Lois in a mini-skirt. Wonder Woman in her brief bell-bottom pants suit make-over. Looks as dated as a flapper skirt or a sack dress. Ah, styles….
Is this comic over now?
