Rough Monday: Comics Go Christmas Caroling
Getting in the festive holiday spirit, I’m doing an interesting little project — mashing up holiday album covers with comic characters of that era! Here’s the start to the countdown….
It’s holiday season at Arkham Asylum, and Harley Quinn has her own way of decking the halls. This one is inspired by Mariah Carey’s 2010 release, “Merry Christmas II You.”
It’s the 90s! Happy Holidays from Young Justice – Superboy, Wonder Girl, Robin and Impulse. “Justice for Christmas!” “No, just us for Christmas.” You just know Bart named this album. This one is inspired by 98 Degrees’ 1998 release, “This Christmas.”
So, Heroites, here’s an exclusive look at the albums I’ll be homaging… wager any bets as to which heroes will grace which covers?
I’ll be counting down a decade each day all week, from the 2000s to the 1960s! And I’ll post the final results here next week!
I’ll take a stab at the Dean Martin album. Given his personality and reputation, and the martini glasses, I’d lean toward Bruce Wayne or Tony Stark.
My guess is Birds of Prey on the album after Dino’s, and to fit with your homage to another NKOTB album, you’ll use the New Warriors for the NKOTB Christmas album. But hey–don’t forget the other holidays of this season. I’m sure Adam Sandler released a single for his Hanukkah song when it first came out….
