Rough Monday: New York Comic-Con Commissions
This weekend marked my first Artist’s Alley experience at New York Comic-Con , and it was a smashing success! It was great to meet a lot of you Heroites in person and also welcome some new members into our fold!
True to any good convention, there’s commissions to be had. So here’s the list of sketches and commissions from the show floor….

Speedy & Stormer: “They’re OK” — This was a commission for New York Comic-Con 2012, featuring a mash-up of two misunderstood team members… Speedy from the Teen Titans and Stormer from the Misfits, of “Jem and the Holograms” fame.
My second commission for New York Comic-Con, it’s the return of Wonder Princess (with her sister Donna as well!)
“Loki & Leah: Milkshake Break” — The third commission in prep for New York Comic-Con… it’s Loki & Leah from “Journey Into Mystery”! Kid Loki is too much fun.
The fourth commission in prep for New York Comic-Con… Sheldon Cooper from “The Big Bang Theory.” Bazinga.
The fifth commission in prep for New York Comic-Con… it’s Smurfette! This reminds me of grade school, where my classmates would ask me to draw Smurfs all da time.

Robin commission, from NYCC, captured via iPhone. The boy that requested it, who was like 9 or 10, said, ‘I want the Nick Cardy Robin, but give him the George Perez mask.” Love!

“Dr. Doom as a Pink Lantern” — A commission from NYCC, captured via iPhone
“Can you draw Moon Knight mooning?” Uh, OK. — A commission from NYCC, captured via iPhone

The last commission of NYCC, captured with my iPhone… it’s the Titans Girls: Lilith, Wonder Girl and Aqua Girl enjoying some downtime at the Canary Cottage Disco! Cage Dancing on Wednesdays.
And that’s that! Whew! Once again, thanks for everyone who stopped by to visit, chat and shop! Definitely planning on doing New York again next year, too!
Of all of them, I really like the Uncle Sam one (’cause I hate what’s going on in Washington right now) and the Loki/Leah piece–all it needs is a barbershop quartet in a gazebo singing “Good Old Summertime” (this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fKvLCwInPGA&feature=relmfu)
Hey I just wanted to say thanks for the appearance of Argus in the commissions. He was always one of my favorite lesser known characters. I always felt that he was a great character concept and back history (a deep cover special agent that has to keep his superhero id secret from his bosses, while keeping his law enforcement id secret from the mob), but that he was swept away with the rest of the less well developed Bloodlines characters.
It always made my day whenever he would show up unexpectedly in a story, but I figured I wouldn’t see him this side of the reboot. Thanks for the reminder.
