Rough Mondays: Pencils to Page
Hey there, Heroites!
This week’s strip is running a bit late (but for a very good reason…. stay tuned!)
In the meantime, I thought I’d share a video I created of my process. Check out how The Hero Business is made — from pencils to final page. Unfortunately, the entire process takes a wee longer than four minutes!
Hello Bill,
I realize that you are (understandably) very busy right now, but I was hoping you could take a few minutes and explain in a little greater detail your processes for creating your work. Are you using Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop (or both)?
I love the way your artwork comes out! So clean!
I have recently begun dabbling with my own comic and have been experimenting with both Illustrator and Photoshop, but there is so much to learn that the whole thing is a little daunting. I don’t have much computer experience and would appreciate any info you could pass along. So far I’ve been relying on YouTube tutorials but they’re kind of a mixed bag; it’s tough finding something that’s appropriate to my skill level (they’re all either too basic or too complicated).
I would also love it if you checked out my strip, My Cousin Lenin. I’m working on taking it to the next level (proper website design, for starters- I’ve been using WordPress.com but it doesn’t really suit the needs of a proper webcomic).
Thanks for your time, and I’m really looking forward to your next storyline!
John
Thanks for the kind words, John! I’ll drop you an email with some tips I’ve found useful.
